The Zenith Pilot Automatic is available in stainless steel or black ceramic and measures 40mm. It has a new case design with a flat top bezel on top of the round case. The stainless steel version has a polished, chamfered and brushed finish, while the ceramic version has a matt micro-blasted finish. Inspired by the corrugated fuselage of an airplane, the distinctive horizontal groove pattern of the opaline dial adds a sense of depth. The Arabic numerals and sword-shaped hands are painted with white luminous. The white line at the top of the date window is a nod to aircraft turn coordinators, or artificial horizons, instruments that allow pilots to control their aircraft's position.
